Wiscasset’s Winters Gone™ Farm & Alpaca Store recently announced plans to expand its operations with the opening of Winters Gone™ Alpaca Fashion retail stores in several US locations with additional stores planned for opening in late 2009. Planned locations include suburban shopping malls in Denver, Boston, Washington, DC and New York as well as specialty boutiques in resort areas including Aspen, Vail, & Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Skip & Judi Taylor feel the present economic downturn presents a very favorable opportunity for expansion into higher price point stores and boutiques not affected by the economic slowdown. Additionally, favorable lease agreements are becoming prevalent as well as the availability of executives desiring career changing opportunities.
“The time is also right for the establishment of dominant brand identification in the blossoming alpaca clothing market” says Taylor. “In the last few years alpaca clothing has become increasingly popular not only for its’ superior inherent qualities but also because of inroads into the fashion design industry. Judi’s Winters Gone™ exclusive designs are a fine example of this. Judi has worked for several years with the world’s top alpaca clothing manufacturers to create her Winters Gone designs and label. Consumer identification of the Winters Gone™ brand, on a national level, will help insure the success of our endeavor” he continued.
The Taylors established Winters Gone Farm & Alpaca Store 6 years ago and their farm is now considered America’s most popular alpaca farm hosting thousands of visitors each year.
“The Alpaca store and alpaca web store sales have exceeded all of our expectations and strong contractual arrangements with our Peruvian manufacturing partners will help to insure the success of our planned expansion” added Mr. Taylor.
Winters Gone Farm’s alpaca breeding operations, under farm manager George Delemontex , and the Winters Gone Alpaca Store and Winters Gone Alpaca Fashions corporate headquarters will continue at the present farm location on Rt. 218 in Wiscasset, Maine.
